Session Synopsis

In this session, we will discuss the challenge of conveying the importance and potential impact of fraud prevention to senior leaders and managers across different business segments. Often, the issue is not a lack of interest, but how the message is communicated. Managers in other areas of the organization focus on their own unique risks, making it difficult for them to see fraud prevention as a priority.

We will explore the intersection of fraud risk with other enterprise risks, as well as learn how to align your fraud prevention efforts to the broader performance and risk management strategies of other business areas.

Presenter Bio

Katherine Robinson has spent her career in the risk management and anti-fraud professions, using her three professional certifications to provide valuable insights to her peers. With almost 10 years in banking risk and compliance and over 15 years in anti-fraud, she has worked with the FBI, the State of Washington, and various banks and credit unions. As a Certified GRC Professional, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, she specializes in developing risk management programs and expanding Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance capabilities. Robinson is the President of the ACFE's Pacific Northwest Chapter, serves on the ACFE’s Chapter Leaders Committee, participates in mentorship programs, and teaches at Everett Community College and Rutgers University-Camden. She also consults and coaches GRC teams and recently accepted the 2023 RIMS Global ERM Award of Distinction for her team's work in improving ERM practices at a bank.
